About Us
The Global Alliance for Human Rights and Health (AGDHS) (French: Alliance Globale pour les droits humains et la santé) is a a non-political, non-profit and non-governmental human rights organization originally founded in France in accoradnce with the French Law of 1 July 1901 and the Decree of 16 August 1901.
Formerly, operating as The Global Alliance Against Female Genital Mutilation / L'Alliance Globale contre les Mutilations Génitales Féminines, the organization expanded its mandate following a decision taken at an Extraordinary General Assembly held on 14 March 2021. At that time, its members also approved the transfer of the organisation’s Headquarters to Switzerland.
AGDHS is now based in Geneva and governed by Articles 60 et seq. of the Swiss Civil Code.
AGDHS is a non-political, and non-governmental organization holding consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
